12″ – Funkatech
Un altro arrivo interessante che proviene da artisti parecchio coinvolti nelle scene drum’n’bass (ma l’esodo è fecondo verso le sonorità breaks: difficilmente potrà essere fermato), parliamo stavolta di Shodan e Miss Trouble, il primo valente dj, producer e remixer britannico (ricordiamo suoi rifacimenti per UK Apachi, The Ragga Twins e Fatman D (senza dimenticare naturalmente il cospicuo sodalizio con Phantasy), l’altra è invece una brava e bella mc/vocalist di base a West London, nei nostri ambiti già vanta la collaborazione con Rogue Element oltre ai live set nei quali è coinvolta. Si parte con la prima traccia e subito l’original version s’imprime massiccia, con bei synth e la voce in evidenza, mentre i bassi naturalmente spingono, forzando nel complesso la ritmica verso sequenze efficaci e spezzate. Altrettanto buono (ma la cassa va diritta) il remix affidato agli Specimen A (Morris & Phil Jones), anche per tale incione tuttavia le frequenze e lo stile riportano sempre (per fortuna) a connotazioni underground di strada.
