12″ – Lounge Records
Le prime mosse della Lounge Records partono da St. Pauli, ben conosciuto distretto a luci rosse della città di Francoforte, dove era situato l’omonimo club fondato da Pete Rivera. Diversi sono gli artisti sui quali l’etichetta tedesca adesso conta e fra questi in particolar modo spicca il nome di The Killergroove Formula, eclettico combo funky-breaks formato da Lars Moston (che ricordiamo anche per le sue produzioni insieme a Malente), da Jens Albert (aka Der Wolf) e da MC NDN (frontman della band Funky Silence). ‘Keep On Burnin’, loro prima uscita dopo il debutto su 12′ per la Unique, nell’original version mantiene i tempi delle battute contenuti, con un suono tuttavia che risulta articolato e ruvido, ultrafunk e shakedelico. Groove a palate anche per il remix di Torpedo Boyz (Rollin Hand), dove viene cambiata la bassline, aumentando i bpm e mantenendo costanti le vibrazioni ‘old style’. In aggiunta una breve incisione di scratch, vocal, ‘specialità della casa’ ed un ulteriore brano, ‘Shake Your Funky Bok-Bok’ dove il titolo da solo dice già tutto.
