Dalla Muti Music di San Francisco arriva questo ‘Space Case EP’, raffinato ed un poco contorto progetto di Andrei Olenev, aka Heyoka, produttore perfettamente in linea con le pulsioni glitch hop che da quell’area provengono. Primi due brani in scaletta, ‘Noospheroid’ e ‘Prickly Goo’ contenuti entro i 120 bpm, midtempo bassdriven dai sapori particolarissimi, vicini per estetica a certo dubstep (roba – per capirci – che in Italia a nessuno, sottolineo nessuno, negli ambiti sclerotici di certo hip hop, verrebbe mai di passare). Si sale appena di battute (125 al minuto) con ‘Fractal Elf’, bello carico a frequenze sorde (come tutto, qui, del resto), e le atmosfere sono infine comprensibilissime, molto futuribili, aspre e grasse, fondamentalmente di matrice groove. Influenze assai trasversali ed anche spacey-reggae in ‘Glibidy Glob’, per poi chiudere con ‘PMOHW’, ispirata, istrionica composizione, atmosferica e ispida. Solo per gente dalle orecchie fini e non riluttante al nuovo.
