12″ – Breakin Even
Con cipiglio ultra-groovy, questi diggerz sfornano l’ennesima bombazza stilosa, preparandosi così all’uscita di ‘Money For Good Times’, album di debutto, previsto in pompa magna per metà Aprile. ‘Funky Heroes’, non smentendo il titolo, non a caso – nomen omen – per il primo remix vede in pista il buon Plaza De Funk, lesto nell’approntare ritmiche conseguenti al suo ficcante moniker. A 133 bpm, dai 128 dell’original version, densa d’umori svisatissimi e grassi, impazza la sua proposta, catalizzando l’energia di costumate – nonchè da preservare – platee puramente nu skool. Sorpresa allo stesso modo confortante viene dal remix degli australiani Signal Drivers, coaudivati da Philly Blunt, impeccabili nelle sequenze fortemente iterate e digitali, a 127 bpm. Traccia – quest’ultima – che finisce immediatamente nel flight-case tendente al tecnoide, caricando e bene, in un misto di calibrati sample, stradaiole e basse, malsane, zozze influenze. Si chiude con l’Absorb Remix, ma già siamo satolli per lodarne ancora i meriti. Questa uscita assomma in pieno due differenti hit, entrambe buone per le nostre separate playlist: cosa decisamente meritevole e non del tutto usuale. Nella partita – infine – è compreso anche ‘LFO’, incisione ben più lenta e atmosferica, comunque dinamica e bongolata, con simpatici vocal e un ascolto nel complesso assai gradevole.
