In guisa d’un label showcase d’alto bordo, ‘Fresh Attire Vol. 1’ bene condensa il suono Wearhouse, mettendo in campo più d’un solo protagonista. S’incomincia con Will Bailey, nostra vecchia conoscenza nei Twocker – assieme ad Alex Calver – adesso in singolo, in alternanza ad un altro suo progetto collaborativo, quello denominato Bass Weazal, sempre efficace, qui in ‘What’s Your Game’ pervertendo un celeberrimo sample groove in saltellanti congiunzioni, a 128 bpm, fra infettivi interventi vocali e scudisciate sintetiche, zeppe di bassi ondeggianti e d’una grassa goduriosa litania d’effetti. Non sono da meno, nell’agitare frequenze tagliate ad arte, Chris James & Mark Spence, maggiormente techy e iterati in ‘Keeper Of The Flame’, con influenze obliquamente jazzy, originali nell’utilizzo disinibito e tagliatissimo dei vocal, subito sopravanzati da evoluzioni piuttosto dense e ipnotiche. Stilismi fidget, culminanti nella successiva ‘The Hook Up’ – sempre dello stesso duo produttivo – costruita in maniera ondivaga, seppur variata in molte pause e ripartenze, fortificate da vocal assai presenti e ritmici. Infine sotto il moniker di Sawtooth Sucka è lo stesso Lee Mortimer, remixato da HiJack, in ‘No Ordinary Girl’ a chiudere la partita, mostrando appieno di quanta energia e innovazione siano capaci nella crew, non rinnegando la tradizione ma investendo soprattutto sul nuovo.
