12″ – Botchit And Scarper
Mentre già s’attende l’album ‘Raw’, previsto per l’autunno, ecco arrivare i primi due sample estratti, ‘We Rewind’ e ‘The Test’, a dimostrazione di quanto la scena sia mobile in ambito breakbeat (occore sempre ripetersi?), frutto d’un eclettismo oramai debordante. Due sono i vocalist che si prestano per le differenti incisioni: Rodney P in ‘We Rewind’, agitando un tosting incalzante e stilizzato, di marca urbana, grazie ad evoluzioni intense e dubbate, mentre in ‘The Test’, Shunda K emerge invece fra ritmiche più cadenzate, esotiche e terzomondiste, ancora fortemente energetiche e ballabili. Non manca una versione club mix del primo brano, apparecchiata direttante dalla brava Flore, in bilico tra battute diritte, pulsioni jackin’ e attitudine breaks-no-breaks, giusto sul crinale dei 126 bpm, velocità giusta per relazionarsi ai molti altri ibridi di genere che ultimamente a queste latitudini girano. A finire in scaletta – stavolta – è però la fratturata e più svelta versione instrumental di ‘The Test’ (136 i colpi al minuto), infettiva nelle mescole simil-kuduro, assai percussive, primitive e sexy.
