12″ – Dead Famous
New productions from the Italian Luigi Barone a.k.a. Break the Box, published by Dead Famous. We get three rocking nu skool tracks, quite powerful and fresh in their funky atmospheres, loaded with fat and sexy vibes. ‘Funky Revolution’ is very solid and hypnotic, with well-timed and inspired stop-and-goes indulging a slight ‘kung-fu movie’ flavour. ‘Elastic Funk’ and ‘Rock Fever’ sound also nicely, the first one quite energetic and winking, with regular disco-groove vocal samples. The second one contains nice Oriental-style influences and deep fat basses. A fucking good start for this guy, with some more stuff to show us in the near future.
