12″ – Even Flow
From the hottest southern outskirts of the breaks we get another release by the Sicilian Break the Box. Relentless funky breaks published by Even Flow, the same label of Groove Diggerz and Mesmer. Nice intro, with some warm bongo
loops for ‘Check the Zip’, suddenly empowered by the kick and the samples, in an uplifting rhythm supported by a pressing bass. Brilliant and massive flow. On the b-side we find ‘The Shoom’, spacey atmosphere but more syncopated rhythmics, with tight and precise vocals leading to more and more acid grooves. We are finally proud to listen to some Italian release far from the usual cheesy housey sounds. Powerful fat nu skool style, representing, together with the breakbeat groove, a real different choice to the emptiness of the leading trends in the Italian dancefloors.
